Fall Festival day!

Today we spent a couple of hours at our community's Fall Festival. It mainly seems directed at the elementary school-aged kids because they all run amuck and go crazy in the bounce houses, but we still had fun. We mainly walked around taking in all of the madness. It's less than a 30-45 second drive to the clubhouse and McKenna managed to doze off and get the Zzzzz she had been fighting all day.

McKenna did get to show dada how well she can scale the big kid part of the playground.

She also picked out a pumpkin at the pumpkin decorating station. Though McKenna seems as indecisive as her mommy and wanted to #decorateallthepumpkins

She was sure proud of her pumpkin once she finally got it decorated.

To boot, we finally got to show off our fall Mommy and Me leggings!!

This is such an exciting age. She was so excited when I pulled out leggings for her that matched the ones I had on. Let's just say it made getting dressed a little easier than it has been the last little while. Ohhhhhhhh, Toddler. How you play with my emotions so. This St Augustine weather is just too much to handle too.  I'm hoping we'll be living in our backyard for the next couple of months!!

Pumpkin Patch goin'

We hit up a fall festival over the weekend with my best friend and her family, but we still haven't gotten our pumpkin to carve. If all goes well, this will be our first time actually carving a pumpkin we bought lol. Anywho, even having rained for the first time in weeks, we knew last night would likely be the only chance we would have to get to the pumpkin patch. No worries, I've had McKenna's outfit picked out for the pumpkin patch for weeks so we were ready at a moment's notice.

The whole ride there McKenna was lighting up saying Patch Patch Patch. As soon we got there she was ready to test her abilities....

You know how that saying goes... "She will move mountains".....err..... pumpkins. Any surely she will try!

She was determined....

Even until Daddy found the Perfect Pumpkin, she had one goal....

Well.... Daddy ended up helping get this one to the front,

But she was able to finally pick one out!!! ;-)

It was a rather quick trip to the pumpkin patch because the rain was upon us, but we found the perfect pumpkins!

20 month old LITTLE GIRL

I just really can't put into words how difficult it is to accept my baby girl is just 4 months shy of turning 2 years old.

She amazes me with something new everyday. Most know her as a quiet, reserved, thoughtful, even timid little one. And while this is true, there is a spunk and sassiness that can test even the most patient of tempers.

Stubborn. Just like her father (ADMITTEDLY, People!). While I am known for being a bit reserved and modest, I have a stubbornness as well. So she was doomed from the start.

I love watching her in new places because really, that shyness about her is almost her is calculated. She is observing and analyzing people and situations; you can watch her wheels crank. She stays back and gets a feel for her environment and the people in it. Because it typically won't take long for her to jump out of her shell, even though it still seems as if she stays in her own world. It's been incredible to watch her at Kindermusik last the last couple of weeks. New class, new city, new faces, new places. Down south we would typically see at least one familiar face when we went to a baby time class, but we're thrown into a whole new ball game here. So far, she's just going with it, and adjusting far better than mommy is!

She loves being outside, but honestly I think her favorite thing to do in the whole world is read books. We could go through every shelf of books we have and then start all over again, and that's just before lunch. And her language development is far beyond what I could ever imagine at this age. She can repeat pretty much anything, including phrases. The newest one being "I got this!" Perhaps one of the cutest things ever.

Her intelligence and humor surprises me everyday. She outsmarts us regularly, and I know it's only going to continue getting worse! Time will only continue to fly by, all the while I'm just trying to keep up with this little ball of energy.
