Look at those little socks!!!
Um, and that face! That little furrowed brow is heart-melting, she always looks worried.
This little one has stolen my heart. She has become so alert and strong, and even if she is getting into a fussier stage, spending time with her gets more and more enjoyable each day. I relish the mornings Kevin has enough time before work to bring her into bed and spend time as a little family (because evening times are spent eating and fussing and crying and eating and fussing and crying). She actively seeks out Mommy and Daddy when she hears our voices or sees our faces. She looks around the room and you can tell she's processing what's going on in the world around her, which is especially exciting when she lifts her head and neck while doing tummy time on Mommy or Daddy's chest. She loves showers & baths, going for walks with her brothers, and riding in the car. While sometimes nothing seems to console her, your best bet is holding her. She is a walk-around baby.... she loves being carried around the house and hummed, talked to, or sang to. While there is no routines to speak of in this house yet, we are becoming more comfortable with each other as we get better and better at reading her cues and figuring out what she needs (which more often than not is The Boob).
You can see it in her face, McKenna is close to sharing her first intentional smile with us (even the nurse practitioner said she looked like she was trying to). Until then, we will enjoy her sheepish grins that she regularly shares while she sleeps. After much thought, I have decided to NOT share my monthly letters to McKenna on the blog. While I know they are fun to read, I think they will be something special to share with her one day when she is ready.
