Hometown Baby Shower

My baby shower was an incredibly special event. I will admit that I did help out with planning decorations, etc. (because I WANTED to!), but majority of the shower could not have been done without these fine ladies, my mom and grandmothers.

It was awesome to have so many people travel from out of town for the day and to see relatives that we typically do not get to see except for special events like this. Though I must say I was most impressed with my friend Ashley who traveled SIX hours from Tallahassee just her and her 1-year-old.

The food was delicious (I mentioned the BLT potato salad in my Week 31 post), the company was wonderful, the games were fun.  The only thing that could have cooperated a bit more was the weather! The theme was Pink and Silver snowflakes and, well, it wasn't exactly reflected in the 80 degree temperature.  Granted most thought it was pleasant, this 30 week pregnant body needed fans!

I was lucky enough to have Kevin arrive not too far into gift opening, which was funner than I anticipated! There were so many wonderful and special gifts, we were in awe.

As a side note, I must say, I am so incredibly lucky.  Kevin is such a great sport with all things baby. Much more so than a typical "guy."  And for both of us anticipating a boy to come first, he is 110% all about our Lil Princess. I'm so excited to have my best friend to share this with!

Overall it was a wonderful day filled with some great memories. Kevin, Baby Pickett, and I are extremely lucky to have so many loved ones that are just excited for her arrival as we are!
